A man drank three bottles of blood!!

I was shocked by news from Hong Kong that a man drank three bottles of blood in a hospital. It happened 2 days ago and the man was arrested. The newspaper saying a 29-years-old drunken man took a three bottles of blood and drank from a blood bank during he was sent to hospital. Those bloods were waiting to be tested. The investigation is still going. http://hk.news.yahoo.com/070914/60/2fpb6.html

I felt shocked by the news and it made me sock. I dare not to imagine that human being would drink blood because of getting drunk. As what doctor said in the news, it's possible but no probable that a drunken man couldn't differentiate blood and wine in a delirious condition. I'm wondering if he thought they are "red wine" as they got the same color. But it's ridiculous as their taste is so different.

Although I'm not sure if this man was delirious or not, I can make sure that the hospital didn't keep the blood safely and the security is absolutely not enough. How can a drunken man easily take the blood from the window of blood bank? It can cause more serious crime and danger!! For example, people can easily steal the blood or change the blood or even add something into the blood.

Fortunately, the blood was finally checked and it does not contain any sickness or virus. And the patient was not in urgency. I hope the hospital should pay more attention on their security and this thing will not happen again.

Critique

The blog I'm going to introduce is called "Baghdad Burning".

This is a political blog created by a girl from Iraq and her name is anonymous. Most content in this blog is about war, politics and sometimes occupation. Therefore, I think its target audience is those people whose are interested in politics or intellectuals. It has been blogging for 4 years since 2003 and it is one of the ten-most-popular blog in the world. For this blog, the blogger usually updates the blog item once a month and the recent journal was posted in 6th September.

I know this blog just because of one of Minehan's assignments. As we need to analysis this blog and a academic article, it gives me the first time to read this blog. I basically had thinking that this blog must be boring as it is a politic journalistic blog. However, after my first time to read the post, I found what she wrote is very interesting and those posts always make me think a lot.

I like this blog because this blog contains a lot of her voice and feelings. There is no something general or clichés that we all know even without reading her posts. The lastly post can be used for instance. In the lastly post, it was about a driver's (who she knows) brother have been killed by shooting when she was planning to leave Iraq with her family. She said, "The trip was long and uneventful, other than two checkpoints being run by masked men. They asked to see identification, took a cursory glance at the passports and asked where we were going". This was her experience and it tells the viewers know how she felt. Another post contains a lot of her voice is the post released in 20th Feb, 2007 about the rape of Sabrine, she wrote, "I hate the media and I hate the Iraqi government for turning this atrocity into another Sunni-Shia debacle- like it matters whether Sabrine is Sunni or Shia or Arab or Kurd (the Al Janabi tribe is composed of both Sunnis and Shia)". She strongly expressed her opinion on this official scandal. I like to know how people judge some particular issues or news.

Another reason why I like this blog a lot is because this blog provides many source about the Iraq War that I don't know or I couldn't watch from television or newspapers. As her position is very clear - anti-Bush and anti-war, she offers some sources in terms of links to other website. For example, there is a link called "Iraq Body Count", can we see it from television? No for sure. The figure in some ways reflects the fact that the invasion to Iraq by the American troops cost many Iraq people's life. I like this website because it provides a lot of useful information for me especially about politics. In addition, it certainly influences me how to judge the Iraq War. Besides, she is also likely to quote some sentence from online newspapers and those quotes can be linked to the original sources such as Yahoo News and the New York times.

For this blog, the layout is simple. The left side is the area for posts and the right hand side is a linking area. In addition, users are not allowed to comment. Although there is a link provided to send mail to the blogger, other users couldn't read the comments from others on each post. In other words, users are unable to share their opinion and feelings; the blogger is the only person to make expression in this blog.

Overall, I like this blog a lot and it became one of my favorite blog. I will keep visiting this blog and hope the blogger keep posting nice articles.

The most stressful days finished!!

hey!! Everybody!! I'm going to announce that the most stressful days have been finished!! We have successfully went through the hardest time!! Although we still got one more class, our long essays as well as the horrible in-class assignment were all due and what we need to do is only the third podcast. But it's no so much stress and is actually interesting job, right?? So, cheer up!! Our happy holiday is coming very soon!! Yeah~

After finishing our in-class assignment, my feeling is like a prisoner has just been released. These days, most classmates were suffering and most of us had worked overnight for the final essays. Like the night before, I got only two hours for sleeping and what the worst is..... my face was suffering breaking out of pimples. Each pimple represented one assignment =.="

Anyway, as one famous saying, "when the rain is over, the sky clears up". I think it is time for me to get into my holiday plan and I know some of our classmates are going home and some are planing to have trip around Australia. For me, I'm going to ....... stay at Sydney =.= I'm sure I will have good time here. No matter where you will go to, I hope all of us will enjoy our holiday and take a good rest.

Finally, I got some pictures and I would like to share with you because I think they are so funny and I have never seen before....

Who said the track is only for train......
I think it is a creative, smart and useful invention as it can save a lot of time for workers doing track work when travlling between two points.

Good online shopping online fwebsite for share

Yesterday one of my friends asked me to recommend some websites for online shopping and I couldn't come up with any ides right that moment. But I have kept this in my mind and never gave up thinking of this. Until this morning, I suddenly think of one website which I used to often visit. However, after coming Australia, I didn't visit the website as often as before because my credit care will be charged service fee if it isn't used in Hong Kong.

I really like this website as it contains informations about the latest arrival products and the models always give a good match of clothing. In some ways I think this website likes magazines as it gives audience the sense of how to dress properly. More importantly, I can purchase some Western brands that I couldn't find in Hong Kong or some particular items I couldn't find in Hong Kong's shop.

Let's check this out: http://www.shopbop.com/

Perhaps some of you might think the clothes or brands sold in this website are too mature when you're the first time to visit there. But if you go to "shop by category" and choose what staff you want, then you can find a lot of displayed items in different brands. I always find some items are very suitable for me.

I think I will become a "frequent visitor" again as it's still a good website to absorb fashion news although I probably won't buy anything. And, I hope you like this website ^^

respect and appreciation V.S. shout and accusation

Today, when I was travelling train from Central to my home, I heard the conversation from an old couple who are around 65 years old.

Man: How long does it takes from here to home? 20 mins?
Woman: No, around 15 mins.
Man (rudely and impatiently): don't argue with me!!

The woman didn't reply the man after he shouted at her however, the man keep shouting "always argue with me, there's no difference between 3 and 5 mins, do you need to count in seconds?!".

Before the man asked the question to the woman, I supposed that they didn't know each other as they sat in different roles of seat and the man sat behind of the woman. For me, it's so strange that an couple (I guess) sat separately and they both occupied double seats. I usually sit with my friend or parents when we travel transport together. But something happened later on that made me understand why they didn't sit together.

When the train was approaching to the station that they got off (I got off at the same station), the man firstly tried to went up the stair to the door. As the train was still travelling, he walked so hard and hold the hand rail tightly. He couldn't walk properly and his hand was holding a walking stick. I was surprised that the woman didn't help him or hold him because it seems that he would be so easy to fall down. I don't know what happened between them but I know they must have a very bad relationship.

It makes me think of my host mother and host father. Although they have got married for nearly 30 years, their relationship have been kept very good. My host mother always praise her husband every time when he cooks some good food for us.They know how to respect and appreciate each other.

What makes so different between these two pairs of couple??

What I think is that more respect, appreciation and less shout and accusation are very important for keeping a good relationship. It doesn't only apply on love relationship, but also friendship or even relationship with parents.

near the end of this semester

Time past so quick when getting busy and concentrate on work.
Today was already the end of Week 10 which means it's near the end of this semester.
So holiday is coming after this busy time.....

I like holiday with no doubt. However, I'm a bit scared of holiday especially spending holiday here. I still remember late last holiday, after Gold Coast trip, I spent nearly 2 weeks at home...... it's a nightmare for me. I did noting at home but eating and sleep and I felt I was wasting my time.

The holiday is coming again. I will definitely find something interesting to do and not to stay at home every day. Now I'm thinking of finding a part-time job or taking language course or learning a musical instrument. ha ha~~ I prefer making money rather then spending money.

My dear friends, Do you make a plan for your holiday? What are you going to do?

P.S.: I know some of my friends in HK they nearly finish their summer holiday and they have to go back work again. ha ha... Cheer up!!!
